Oslo City Museum was an independent museum from 1905 to 2006. In 2006 it became part of the newly established Oslo Museum, together with two other museums.〔(''Frogner Manor House''(Visit Oslo) )〕
Oslo City Museum has an extensive library with the purpose of documenting the history of the City of Oslo, as well as the former municipality Aker. The museum also has one of the largest and most important photo collections in Norway.
